IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN THE NEEDS OF JEWISH YOUTH, PLEASE REVIEW THESE IMPORTANT PROGRAMS!
THEY ALL NEED YOUR GENEROUS SUPPORT!

The Agency’s services to children span the service fields of:

  • Mental health

  • Child welfare

  • Child development

  • Higher education, and the Jewish education/camping experience.

The JCRS professional staff are advocates for children and are committed to the comprehensive coordination of services to young people whenever possible, whether through the JCRS or through other agencies.

If the agency does not currently offer a specific child-related service, the omission is not necessarily reflective of a lack of need in the service district. Rather, the omission could be a result of the lack of funds, or the lack of consensus on the magnitude of a social problem.

Eligibility Requirements

For all JCRS programs: the primary qualification for financial aid is family income/family size.  If you suspect your family’s income may be so high that your child will receive little or no aid, call the JCRS staff to discuss your circumstances prior to initiating an application.

All applicants for aid from a JCRS program must be permanent residents of one of the following states: Alabama, Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Oklahoma, Tennessee, or Texas.

An applicant for a Camp Scholarship must be a Jewish child and between the ages of 9 and 16 to begin the summer camp session for which aid is requested.

An applicant for a College Aid/Scholarship must be a Jewish youth under age 25 when beginning the school term for which aid is requested.  At this time, funds are available only for undergraduate school.

An applicant for the Special Needs Program must be a Jewish youth of pre-college age, typically 18 years of age and under.

Hanukkah Gifts more Click Here for details!

Hanukkah gifts are provided to Jewish youth from the region that is identified to us either as being a part of lower-income family or young person in need of special recognition as a result of unique challenges. Many of the gifts we sent to young people who are from single-parent family, immigrant families and/or children being raised by grandparents. Some youth are in institutions. The gifts are also out to Jewish state hospital residents in it seven state regions. The Hanukkah gift lists rose from 200 to 300 youth in 2005 as a result of hurricanes Katrina and Rita.
