FUNDING

             To say that there are many times and methods to support your favorite causes is an understatement

       JCRS supporters come from all income levels. Some contributors donate every month, some contribute once or more each year, and still others can send a contribution only once every few years. We are pleased to say that last year, over 2,000 households made individual contributions to the programs of the JCRS.

        The JCRS, like other children’s agencies, offers a variety of tax deductible contribution levels or categories:

$ 10,000 Permanent Named Fund
$ 1,400 Benefactor (Full Scholarship Provider)
$ 700 Patron (Half Scholarship Provider)
$ 250 Guardian
$ 100 Century Club Membership
$ 50 Sustaining Donation
$ 36 Friends Donation (Double Chai)

The preferred method of helping needy Jewish children and their families, by a growing number of donors, has been to create a scholarship fund at the Jewish Children’s Regional Service.  Establishing a fund at the JCRS accomplishes several goals.  They include:

  1. The opportunity to help needy Jewish youths in one or more scholarship programs on an ongoing basis.

  2. The opportunity for a donor family to commit to a specific Tzedakah project, such as one of the
    JCRS scholarship programs.

  3. The opportunity for a family to permanently honor or memorialize a loved one by naming a scholarship
    for needy youths after that individual.

The minimum commitment to establish a named scholarship fund is $10,000, which can be paid out over five years.  Some individuals who were living on fixed incomes and could not establish a fund during their lifetimes have provided gifts of $10,000 or more in their Wills. Please keep in mind that the JCRS is an IRS 501-C-3 non-profit agency and as such, your gift is fully tax deductible.

      Everyday the JCRS receives correspondence and contributions from individuals whose lives were touched by one of our services or programs.  A typical letter, received on November 27, 2000 stated:

My husband passed away in July.  I wasn’t left with much
  financially, but I want you to have this donation in his
  memory.  Wish it could be more!  Please send me annual
  reminders for a donation.  JCRS was instrumental in helping
  my children attend Greene Family Camp.
  Thank you.

Sincerely,
                                (Mother and recent widow)”

        The Jewish Children’s Regional Service acknowledges all gifts, both to you and to the person or family you honor.  We send an individual, personal letter or letters to your honoree or honorees.  Family gifts are acknowledged to each family member.  In addition, each donor is provided a separate certification for each tax-deductible contribution to the JCRS programs.

The children and families you will help
appreciate your kindness and generosity!
