The JCRS is a small group of dedicated people.
We operate with a staff of four full-time personnel – two
professional and two clerical staff members. There's always a lot to do
just to keep up with the day-to-day tasks involved with managing the
programs and the help for the children.
In truth, we're working at full capacity and despite dedication and
hard work, there are still those extras or pluses we’d like to get done
but never seem to have the time or wherewithal to do.
Every dollar we save through our extra effort can go toward funding
maybe one or two additional campers, another college scholarship, or
perhaps a project
to help a child with a special needs requirement.
And, whatever you can do to help will do the same.
Every dollar saved through your efforts can go toward providing
funding for the future of a child.
Having said this, what can you do to help?
There's a lot -- some technical; some administrative; some
financial. If you, someone in
your family, or someone you know can assist in any of the following areas,
we will certainly appreciate your help.
By the way, the you in each of the questions below doesn't
really have to be just you – it can be a family member, an acquaintance
or, for that matter, all of you!
1.
Do you know a Jewish youth who
needs our help?
If you do, please give him or her our Internet address or our
800-phone number.
2.
Can you let others know who we
are and what we do? Please
tell potential clients, as well as potential contributors, about our work.
It's the easiest way for you to help.
We are a grass-roots organization and what better way to spread the
word than from the level of family and friends.
3.
Can you devote time to
researching address information for your city or metro area?
Inaccurate mailing information is expensive -- extremely expensive,
a returned letter costs approximately $0.80.
The Post Office estimates that roughly 15% of the population in the
United States moves each year and we cover seven states.
There's no way we can verify the accuracy of mailing information in
each and every city and town in an area so large.
4.
Do you know how to program Access
databases?
We're converting over to Access© and we could use help with macros
and queries. If you know how
to program VBA procedures, that's even one step better!
5.
Can you design and maintain web
sites?
Web pages? We
can use your help in expanding our Internet presence.
6.
Do you know how to build Internet
forms that feed directly into databases?
We'd like to eventually post all of our application forms as
Internet documents and we'd like to have the forms feed directly into our
databases. What a time-saving
advantage this would be!
7.
Do you have any special talent
that we've missed?
Do you work with a desktop publishing program?
Write copy? Prepare
grant proposals? Involved
with public relations? If yes
for any of these or other talent that could assist in our work, let us
know how you think you could help.
8.
And, naturally, these skills are in
addition to any funds you can contribute
-- please see our Giving page for details. Most of our support comes from very modest contributions.
We need many people to support our work as well as to identify and
develop large contributors who can support our programs.
Thank
you for your consideration and any assistance you may be able to give.
Always keep in mind ...
